The image was inspired by the Poison Glen in Dunlewey (Dún Lúiche) in County Donegal, Ireland. This strangely named glen is actually a beautiful area where Irish is spoken and traditional music flourishes. One possible explanation is that there was a mix up between the Irish for heaven which is 'neamh' and the Irish for poison which is 'neimhe'. Perhaps Heavenly Glen would be a better name!
I made this entirely myself from beginning to end, from the initial idea, through painting each layer on the litho stone, processing and proofing each colour, to printing the edition.
