The last bachelor son was the only person left running the wee farm and what was once a thriving family concern was slowly taken over by nature and the buildings fell into disrepair. A common sight in Ireland still, a reflection of hard economic times. I used soft greens and greys to depict the mist over the land and give a feeling of loneliness.
I made this entirely myself from beginning to end, from the initial idea, through painting each layer on the litho stone, processing and proofing each colour, to printing the edition.
