This lithograph was inspired by the farm belonging to Zander, a friend of my father's. Zander was a bachelor, living alone in a traditional farm cottage with ancient stone out buildings and sheds. He was a frequent visitor in our house and we used to joke that he had a sixth sense for when my mother was baking as he would arrive just as a cake was coming out of the oven.
I made this entirely myself from beginning to end, from the initial idea, through painting each layer on the litho stone, processing and proofing each colour, to printing the edition.
